Please join us in the Drawing Room on First Friday, September 6th from 5 - 8pm for the public opening of STORY IN COLOR a solo exhibition of new works by Cynthia Bjorn.
Cynthia Bjorn a contemporary painter who uses incredibly fine brushes to create modern, intensely layered paintings.
Bjorn has a fascination with mark making. Using the painting’s surface as a metaphor for conversation, she layers fine strokes of paint until a statement that captures her intention and intuitive voice emerges. Bjorn’s process is highly meditative as she slowly builds each composition before applying a precise coat of resin. The process of applying resin freezes her meditation in process imbuing each piece with its own personality and emotional energy.
The opening reception for STORY IN COLOR will be held 5-8pm on September’s First Friday at The Drawing Room located at 1903 Wyandotte, Kansas City, MO 64108.
In addition to the exhibition, an artist talk will take place on Saturday, September 14th from 2 - 4pm.
The duration of the exhibit is open to the public from 10am-6pm Tuesday through Friday and Noon-5pm on Saturday’s.
